I'm a genius... NOT

I completed one of those online IQ tests, which told me that I had an IQ of 126, which means I'm in the top 5% of their test takers and eligible to join their high IQ society. I was on seventh heaven for a while until the scientific training kicked in and I took the test giving random answers, it told me I had an IQ of 114, which meant I'm smart but not in the top 5% of their clientale. This happened twice so I'm not holding my breath on me being the luckiest test-taker alive. Here's the link, kinda fun but it's utterly meaningless.

Here's a different test which is more fun... They give phrases with some words only as initials and you have to figure those out, e.g.
24 H in a D = 24 hours in a day

my particular favourite is:

42 is the A to L, the U, and E

Any guesses?

Uhm...
42 is the Age to Listen, Understand and Express?

42 is the Answer to Lost-Lust, the underwhelming sex and end of love.

Mosilager said...

nope... but good try guys... I'll give it till tomorrow and then post the answer.

42 is the answer to life, the 'u' and everything.
I don't know what U could be. For that matter, L and E could also be so many other things.

Good one, Mayuri, you're very close.

Mayuri came the closest!
42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. It's from the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, the classic comedy by Douglas Adams. This stuff kept radio listeners riveted for a long time, and then it was turned into a book. Anyway the Hitchhiker review is for a future blog post so all I'll say right now is that knowing the question of life, the universe and everything will allow you to understand the meaning of the answer.

Hey Ranjit,
I got 3 of them straight -
1024 B in a K: 1024 bytes in a kilobyte
The S R of -1 is an I N: The square root of -1 is an imaginary number
2 S of a C: 2 sides of a coin

cool! I think three of us here were trying it and we got all of them when we put our brains together. Incidentally, do you use cocomment to keep track of your comments?

visitor said...

What's this cocomment? I have my comments emailed to me. I still wouldn't know if any of my comments elicited a response on somebody else's blog.

Summation of 3 average brains is greater than or equal to a genius?

Mosilager said...

www.cocomment.com it's a way to keep track of your comments on any blog and also other people who comment on the same post. It does have some problems, namely some blogs are not recognized correctly and you have to enter the blog post address yourself but it's incredibly useful... for instance, here's the rss feed to my comments:

http://www.cocomment.com/rss2/kalusha.rss

3 average brains = 1 genius? I think sometimes, but most of the time the 3 brains will be superior. If you look at our cricket team, sometimes you do need a tendulkar (like earlier today) but other times you can do with yuvraj+kaif+raina.

That was one hell of a useful link.

cool, let me know how it goes with cocomment... and actually if you have a link to your comment feeds that would be nice... i think there's a way to get the comments you make on other blogs listed on your blog as well but I haven't messed with the options that much.

the blogs that pop up a window for comments you have to manually enter the info to be able to track. if you have the firefox extension there will be a red exclamation mark next to the "tags" option on the comment window itself. where it says "site url" should be the main address of the site and where it says "page url" should be the address of the post itself (not of the comments).

the firefox extension is a little annoying because it comes up when you are trying to create a new post but can just click on the blue CO icon and turn off for that page (or any other page where it tries to work but should not.)

Yeah the cocomment popup window comes up when I create a new post. I still have to mess around for some more time until I get the hang of it.

i have a blue CO icon right at the bottom of the firefox window next to a little red envelope looking icon. if I right-click on that then it allows me to turn off cocomment for the current page... that should work for your blog posting page hopefully.

You're obviously not a genius, you can't even spell "clientèle."

Mosilager said...

anon please go through the rest of the blog and tell me about the spelling mistakes.

This is only occasionally a french blog so I'm not going to put the accent on. Do you have any problems with the ideas expressed in the post? Otherwise you are flirting dangerously with 'flame bait' due to the personal attack and any repeat of flame bait will be deleted without notice.
